Tropical

My leopard print belt and tropical print shorts don't really go together in the real world because leopards don't live in the tropical rainforest. But in the fashion world, the colors match so well that I decided it was ok. Plus, I'm pretty sure leopards would enjoy going on a tropical vacation. I mean, who wouldn't? The animals in the Madagascar movie sure seemed to like it. Or were they trying to get off the island the whole movie?

P.S. I'm pretending the vineyard behind me is a tropical jungle

Hearts

I still remember the day I learned that your heart is not actually shaped like a heart. I was in kindergarten (or maybe first grade) and the teacher asked the class what our heart is shaped like. I was always a shy kids so it was very unusual for me to volunteer to answer a question but this question was my time to shine. I raised my hand with full confidence thinking I'm going to nail this and become the smartest kid in class. When the teacher called on me, I answered with the drawing of a heart <3. BONK! I got the answer wrong. My teacher had fooled me with a trick question. Since then, I've always thought it was silly that the heart shape is called a heart when it's not actually shaped like our heart. But I've come to realize that it's a good thing the heart shape doesn't actually look like our hearts because if it did, my heart button earrings wouldn't be nearly as cute as they are.

P.S. I really enjoyed reading your favorite memories of your moms. They were all so sweet. The winner of the Blue Nile Earrings Giveaway is Rebecca Pruett! Email me (daisyraeboutique@yahoo.com) to claim your prize.

Mint Shoes

I bought these shoes when I was 16, wore them twice and then they sat in the back of my closet for years. I think the shoes went through a state of depression because they felt neglected and unloved. (Yes, my shoes have feelings. Don't yours?) But these shoes were fighters and never gave up. They made it through many closet purges knowing that one day they would see the outside world. Well, Hallelujah! The wait is over! The day has come! And what a wonderful day it is :)
